$4.5 m Spent on New Road to Fantasy Beach, Priory, St. Ann

The St. Ann Parish Council has spent $4.5 m to rehabilitate the access road to Fantasy Beach in Priory, St. Ann.

Secretary/Manager, at the St. Ann Parish Council, Alfred Graham, says 300 m of roadway were resurfaced, to enable smoother access for motorists as well as to reduce the risk of motor vehicle accidents at the entrance to the beach.

Mr. Graham says the old entrance to the beach was at a blind corner, which posed a high risk for motorists entering and leaving the property

The new access road is at a central point where motorists entering and leaving the property will have a better line of sight, so the risk of accidents will be significantly reduced.

The rehabilitative work which was implemented by the St. Ann Parish Council, was funded by the Jamaica Emergency Employment Programme (JEEP).

The recently completed roadway was undertaken in two phases, with over 100 persons employed under the project.
