St. Ann Municipal Corporation Labour Day 2017 activities at the Steer Town Community Centre.

RESTORE PRESERVE…BEAUTIFY
St. Ann Municipal Corporation to carry out parish Labour Day activities at the Steer Town Community Centre.
 
 (St. Ann’s Bay Jamaica) (May19, 2017) As part of activities planned across the Island for National Labour Day Tuesday May 23, 2017, the St. Ann Municipal Corporation will be carrying out major improvement work on the Steer Town Community Centre in the Lime Hall Division.
 
In keeping with the theme and thrust of Labour Day activities across the island work to be undertaken include: Painting of walls, cutting of overgrown shrubs, white washing of walls, planting of trees etc. Residents in and around the Steer Town Community are asked to lend their efforts in whatever way possible to make the project a massive success. Acting Mayor of St. Ann’s Bay and Chairman of the Municipal Corporation Cllr. Sydney Stewart will be on site to support the project, Councillor for the Lime Hall Division, Mrs. Genevor Gordon- Bailey, Miss Claudiah Carter Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation and other senior officers of the Corporation as well as Councillors from across the parish are also expected to lend support.
 
It is expected that other Councillors will be conducting Labour Day projects in their various divisions, as Councillors representing Beecher Town, Moneague, Lime Hall, Alexandria, Brown’s Town, Bensonton, Claremont, St. Ann’s Bay among others have all registered projects with the Local Authority.
 
The Council is extending an invitation and encouraging the public to participate in activities in either of the named divisions and to register their own Labour Day initiatives/activities planned or other registered projects across the parish.
